BASIC MANNERS

Held in our outdoor play area
——

This series is great for all dogs of any age in need of basic skills. Each class we will learn and practice new cues, discuss and problem solve common household issues, and teach your dog that coming when called is one of the most rewarding things that they can do! Some of the skills you and your dog will practice include “sit,” “down,” “stand,” “touch,” “off,” “watch me,” "leave it," and “stay.” We will also give you tools to get your dog walking on a loose leash. This class is a great way to build a good relationship with your new dog or increase communication and skills with a dog that you have had for years!

PUPPY KINDERGARTEN

Held in our outdoor play area

In this course, you will learn how dogs learn, and use that information to train foundational behaviors such as sit, down, touch, look at me, loose-leash walking, recall, and name recognition. We introduce concepts like settle on a mat, stay, trick training, and more. Our class coaches you through providing your puppy with critical positive, proactive socialization and exposure! In addition, this class is based on life-long goals for our students. Puppy parents should come out of this class with a good understanding of how dogs learn, their dog's basic needs, knowledge of how reinforcement and motivation will impact their puppy's behavior, and the ability to achieve and maintain control of their puppy through safe, positive methods of focusing dogs' attention.

Loose leash walking & reliable recall

Held in our outdoor play area
——
Loose Leash Walking & Reliable Recall is a 6-week session with a class maximum of six dogs. This class is for dogs that have completed our Basic Manners and/or Puppy Kindergarten class or have transferred from a similar course. In this class, dogs improve on the basic skills that they acquired in Basic Manners; we reinforce proper leash behavior and recalls in all situations, and pups learn how to work with distractions. Since many of the dogs in this class are transitioning from bright-eyed puppy hood to adolescence, which can be a very challenging stage in life, we continue to problem solve and troubleshoot various behavioral matters.

For:
Any dog who has completed Basic Manners or a comparable course
Fee:
$225 - nonrefundable

NOSE GAMES

Held in our outdoor play area
——
Your dog's nose is an incredibly powerful tool. Allowing your dog to tap into their natural sniffing abilities can be a great way to get them mental exercise, and even help them relax and decompress. In this class our goal is not formal nosework competition (the skills you gain in this class could apply to nosework competition training!) but rather building your bond with your dog and giving you a fun and healthy outlet for energy. This class can be great for dogs who are anxious, have a hard time settling down, or who just could benefit from some extra mental enrichment. Any dog no matter what age and breed can learn how to use their nose! In this class you will learn how your dog's nose works, how sniffing can be incorporated as a fun and healthy supplement to typical obedience training and how to introduce your dog to scents. You will learn games and activities that you can play in a confined outdoor space as well as out and about!

Length: 6 weeks, meeting 1x per week
For:
Any dog over 20 weeks of age
Fee:
$225 - nonrefundable
